GREENKEEPERS GOLF DAY

(19.09.2008 - 20.09.2008)
Weekdays:
Fri, Sat

Under the chairmanship and vice-presidency of Arne Van Amerongen and Mark Vanderlooy, the Bulgarian Golfers Green keepers Association is going from strength to strength. This was clearly evidenced by the BGGA conference and golf day held on the 19th and 20th of September 2008. Eminent speakers were invited to the conference to share their product knowledge and encourage networking between like-minded professionals in the green keeping and golf construction industry in Bulgaria.

The tournament was divided into separate divisions for the green keepers, and there were two further divisions for the golfers based on handicap.

Winner in the Green Keepers division was Arne Van Amerongen with 37 points. Mark Vanderlooy took second with 32 points and Steve Wood was third with 30 points.

The A division was dominated by Todor Krastev who returned 42 stableford points. In second place was Stefan Kralchev on thirty-seven, and third was Radoslav Rashev on thirty-six points.

The B division winner was Tsunehara Takeda with Thirty-nine points. Kiril Marinov was close behind with thirty-eight points and third with thirty-six points was Shinichi Nakatsugawa.

Arthur Coughlin had the nearest to the pin on the 15th hole.

Neil Turley took the longest drive for men and Iliana Dimitrova the longest drive for the ladies.

The prizegiving was followed by a buffet dinner complete with a string quartet of lovely ladies who supplied soothing music.

Well done to the BGGA and to Kirov & Son the main sponsor of the event.
