Paul McGinley, a legend in golf, was a special guest at the Christmas party of St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa on 15th of December 2009.
The Irish-born Paul McGinley has played in three Ryder Cup matches and has been on the winning team each time. McGinley has been a regular on the European PGA Tour and has achieved nine professional wins in his career.
The guests of St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa were familiarized with the plans for modernization of the golf course, designed by Paul McGinley, which are going to bring entertaining elements for the golfers and will increase the difficulty of the holes. Paul’s design philosophy is based on his belief that golf courses should reward well-executed shots and should be playable for amateur golfers.
During the party, Zdravko Datchev and Maksim Vatev were awarded with the Cup of St. Sofia Fourball Betterball Match play Championship, given by the Executive Director of St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa – Renzo Testa. The golf club gave also its annual prizes for best golfers:

2. Talent of the year 2009 – Jonathan Hargreaves
3. Longest drive 2009 – Radoslav Rashev
4. Most beautiful swing 2009 – Teodor Todorov
5. Golfer of the year 2009 – Ilian Ralev
